Things to Remember on Your Wedding Day

There are countless things that couples need to keep in mind when planning for their big day, but what many couples don't consider are the few important items that are crucial to remember on the wedding day itself! Here are the top items we think are most important for couples to remember on their special day.

Your Top 3.

As much as you will want to make sure to cross off every item off of your "to do", "to bring", and "to pack" lists, making a priority list of the top 3 most important things that you will need will definitely help give you peace of mind. If you make a list of the items you cannot forget (for example: 1. rings 2. marriage license 3. vows), you will feel more relaxed on the day-of knowing that if all else fails, you have the 3 things that you absolutely need.

Don't sweat the small stuff.

Try not to stress out about smaller issues or problems that might arise on the day-of because when you look back on this day, you will be reminded of the bigger picture, not the little issues. The most important thing about your wedding is the fact you are getting married to the love of your life and that all your loved ones will be coming together on this one special day to celebrate with you. All the smaller things that come up should not detract from the love and happiness of the day, because years later, those are the feelings that you are going to want to remember.

Don't forget to eat.

Many couples either forget to eat or simply run out of time to eat on their wedding day. The best way to keep yourself energized and functioning (and not starving!), is to save some time to enjoy your food. Some couples will opt for a quick meal alone together before the reception so they can spend a few quiet moments together while also making sure they eat. Other couples set aside time at the beginning of the reception to make sure they are sitting down to eat together. Not only will taking time to eat your dinner (or lunch, or brunch!) give you more energy for the rest of your wedding celebration, but it will also give you a chance to enjoy the delicious meal that you selected and paid for!

Stay hydrated.

This one is huge. With all the commotion that comes with getting ready, taking photos, and saying hi to guests, couples also often forget to drink water. Staying hydrated is even more important to remember on your wedding day because all the dancing and champagne toasts contribute greatly to dehydration. Dehydration can not only give you a headache and leave you feeling sick on your big day, but it can also make you feel tired, dizzy, and make you more likely to pass out.

Be present.

Wedding days go by so fast! It sounds cliché, but it's true. So much work goes into planning a wedding that by the end of the evening it feels like you blinked and it's over. The best thing that a couple can do on their wedding day is to be present and soak it all in. You are getting and married and celebrating with all your loved ones! Savor every moment.
