The Best Time Of Year To Get Married

When is the best time of year to get married?

This is a very common question that couples have when trying to figure out their wedding date. The honest answer may leave you feeling unsatisfied because . . . it depends. The best time of year for one couple may not be the same for another. As we always say, every couple is different, every love story is different, so the best time of year to get married will be different for everyone. That said, there are a couple important considerations to take into account when figuring out when the best time of year is for you and your special day.

One major thing to consider when figuring out what time would be best for you to get married is what you want the general style and feel of your wedding to be. Have you always dreamed of getting married outdoors on a beautiful summer day? Perhaps one of the warmer months would be ideal for you. Do you love the idea of having multicolored autumn leaves in the background of your photos? Then a fall wedding would be perfect! Think about what style and overall ambiance you want for your wedding and what season or month might lend itself to that vision.

Another thing to consider is your budget. Some of the most popular months to get married are May, June, September, and October, so choosing to get married in those months may mean that you will have to budget more for your venue. Many venues have peak season or peak months where prices are higher because those date ranges are more popular. That being said, months in the middle of summer (July and August) or winter (January and February) are often considered off-peak and will likely have a lower price-tag than some of the more popular months.

As far as actual wedding date considerations (day of the week, dates to avoid, etc.) that is something we will save for another post, so make sure you subscribe to our mailing list so that you don't miss it!
