2019 Wedding Trends

From what I have seen, there are a lot of predicted trends for 2019 that vary across wedding and wedding professionals. Since I have read about so many different trends for the upcoming year, I have done my best to gather the most commonly noted elements and came up with a list of top 5 trends predicted for weddings in 2019. This includes, but is not limited to, items that have been noted by The Wedding Academy, Brides, and Martha Stewart Weddings.

1. Coral

Given that Pantone's Color of the Year is Living Coral, it is commonly believed that there will be a number of wedding colors and themes influenced by coral, whether that be reflected in florals, decor, or bridal party attire. Branching off of a heavy coral color palette, we may be seeing some orange, pink, red, and yellow color accents sprinkled in as well.

2. Back To Classic

The royal weddings in 2018 of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as well as Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are noted to have influenced the rise of more classic wedding design elements. Simple, classic wedding dresses have become more popular as well as more elegant and delicate bouquets and floral arrangements.

3. Unique And Alternative

While this completely contradicts the former trend of bringing more of a classic style to weddings, more alternative and unique wedding elements are also becoming trendy. Things like unique engagement rings with various colored stones, a mix of genders and numbers in the wedding parties, and incorporating organic or eco-friendly elements are all more alternative ideas predicted for 2019. Since both the classic and alternative styles have been noted as upcoming trends, we may end up seeing weddings that use a juxtaposition between the two styles to creating a wedding that best reflects the couple without strictly adhering to either a classic or alternative style.

4. Bringing The Outside In And The Inside Out

Whether it be bringing internal elements to the outdoors (think outdoor receptions and dance floors in the grass), or bringing nature into your venue with florals and natural, rustic decor, one of the most common themes that I have seen predicted for this year is the element of nature.

5. Elaborate Cakes

Lastly, elaborate, ornate cakes are expected to be making more of an appearance. This include cakes with strong, bold colors, deconstructed elements, and so much more. More simple, naked cakes are expected to fade away while and statement cakes become more popular.

Regardless of what is predicted to be trendy for weddings in 2019, at G&N Events we believe that your wedding should be everything you want it to be, regardless of what is "in style" or "on trend". Whether it is a coral color palette or a naked cake, your wedding should be a reflection of you as a couple because being true to your vision and who you are is something that will never go out of style.
